The Coricancha

The Coricancha, located in Cusco was the most important temple in the Inca Empire. Sheets of gold once covered the inside. A yard of corn stalks made of silver with golden ears of corn also once stood before the greed and the bigotry of the Spanish decimated Cusco. Today, much of the stonework, which I believe predates the Inca, makes up the foundation of the Santo Domingo church and convent.
