Our Artificial Moon?

Being someone who frequents alternative news sites and browses paranormal web and social media pages on a regular basis, I’ve encountered a lot of talk as of late suggesting that our moon might be “artificial.” As a result, I’ve started to reexamine a topic that I haven’t thought about in quite a few years.

I was first introduced to the “Artificial Moon Hypothesis” by one of my favorite authors, Jim Marrs. During a very slow time at work about ten years ago, I brought in a copy of Alien Agenda to help pass the time. The book captured my interest right away. The introductory chapter familiarized me with UFO crash that occurred in Aurora, Texas in 1897. I was flabbergasted. I didn’t know that UFO crash accounts went back so far; I suppose I just assumed that UFO crashes were a fairly recent phenomenon that began in Roswell. The story of the Aurora crash, as fascinating as it was, paled in comparison to the first chapter which was titled The Greatest UFO?

Needless to say, the thought had never—not even once—occurred to me that the Earth’s moon might be artificial; that it might be an engineered satellite, brought here and put into orbit by extraterrestrials. According to Marrs’ book, it might even be more than that—it may actually be an enormous spaceship!

The Anomalous Moon

As strange as it sounds, there is something “fishy” about the moon. Many things. For starters, and what really intrigued me about the theory is that there is a reason to believe that the moon may be hollow. The moon’s density is only about 60% of the density of our planet. This in and of itself does not point to a hollow moon; it does, however, raise questions. As we began our exploration of the moon decades ago, the study of lunar rocks seemed to produce more questions than answers. NASA scientist Dr. Gordon MacDonald said, “It would seem that the moon is more like a hollow than a homogenous sphere.” Likewise, Dr. Sean C. Solomon of MIT wrote that the “frightening possibility” existed that the moon might be hollow.

When seismic events occur on the moon, or when it is struck by large, heavy objects, something unusual happens—it rings like a bell. An example of this took place in 1969. The crew of the Apollo 12 created a seismic event when the Lunar Module was sent crashing onto the surface of the moon. Seismic equipment detected something startling—the moon resonated—it echoed like a gong that had been struck. The reverberating lasted for more than an hour! Dr. Frank Press from MIT called this “an extraordinary event” unlike anything that had been seen on Earth. Obviously, if the moon had a solid core, like Earth, then something as minor as a Lunar Module crashing onto its surface could not cause it to echo like a bell for over an hour. This is astounding. Thinking of this brings to mind the controversial “Bosnian Pyramids.” Once thought to be natural formations, these pyramid-shaped hills were said to resonate when struck by artillery fire during the Bosnian civil war in the 1990s. This, however, is a topic for another day…

Another moon oddity is its surface. The lunar exterior is composed primarily of metals—perhaps processed materials. The crust of the moon is mainly comprised of silicon, magnesium, iron, calcium, and aluminum. Traces of titanium, thorium, and uranium are also present. Titanium and aluminum, and to a lesser degree magnesium, are widely used in the aerospace industry.

Of course, the composition of the lunar surface isn’t suspect on its own. However, if the moon is hollow—and according to renowned astronomer Carl Sagan, a natural satellite cannot be hollow—then we might be dealing with a gargantuan manufactured satellite!

How Did the Moon Get There?

There are cultures throughout the world whose legends harken back to a time when there was no moon in the sky. This thought is also echoed in various occult belief systems. One that comes to mind is the “World Ice Theory” popularized by the eccentric Austrian Hanns Hörbiger in the early 1900s. Hörbiger’s theory was eventually adopted as the official cosmogony of the Third Reich. Interestingly enough, the Nazis have long been rumored to have had contact with extraterrestrials and even possess alien technology.

One of the hallmarks of the World Ice Theory is that our present moon was recently captured by Earth’s gravitational field. Believers in this theory and other similar theories believe that the capture of the large satellite is the impetus behind many of the legends of global catastrophes and flood myths. It is not hard to imagine the effect such a large object would have on the tides as its proximity to our planet rapidly increased. Could a “manufactured moon” establishing its orbit around our planet in the past be the catalyst behind the Great Flood?

What was once widely accepted as the origin of the moon—a large body called Theia crashed into the earth which broke off pieces of debris that accreted and formed the moon—is now questioned by many. Simply put, there is very little evidence to support the theory. We really do not know how the moon came to be.

One thing that we do know is that the moon has a strange orbit. The moon has a nearly perfect stationary, circular orbit; it also has a tilt of about five degrees. Really, the moon should wobble; it has a bulge located on the far side which is odd considering its orbit. This would not be odd, however, if the moon is manufactured.

C’mon, a Spaceship?

In 1970, Michael Vasin and Alexander Shcherbakov, both Russian scientists, proposed that our moon is not natural, but rather, the product of extraterrestrial ingenuity. The pair theorized that the moon had been hollowed out long ago by means of some sort of advanced technology. The surface of the moon had been “beefed up” with a metallic shell and coated with a rocky finish. This gigantic spaceship was brought into our solar system and “parked” in place by the extraterrestrials in the remote past.

Assuming for a moment that the moon is an enormous spacecraft, why is it here? What do the aliens want?

Admittedly, the Artificial Moon Theory and especially the Spaceship Moon Theory sound a bit little nuts. But, it does answer many questions concerning the moon’s anomalies. Moreover, it answers my biggest question regarding NASA and our space program: Why did we abruptly stop going to the moon? If indeed the moon is a colossal alien structure, then the inhabitants probably grew weary of our moon landings and put a stop to them. Along these lines, rumors have long held that we were actually “chased” off of the moon, warned off. Supposedly, our astronauts encountered aliens on the moon; the extraterrestrials were apparently not thrilled with the idea of humans trespassing on the moon.

Of course, I am not asking you to believe the Artificial Moon Theory. In fact, I don’t think I believe it myself. With that being said, though, the part of me that wants to believe in the fantastic will not allow me to completely dismiss it. I can’t help but wonder if maybe, just maybe it’s true.
